Celeste manages the day to day operations and has assembled an amazing team of experienced animal lovers that treat our guests like their own family members.

Celeste Bennett

Facility Manager

Celeste is a third generation dog specialist, growing up in the Bennett family who has been breeding and showing some of Canada’s top show dogs. Prior to opening Happy Tails, Celeste worked at two of Winnipeg’s premier dog facilities learning what worked and what didn’t work for clients. Celeste’s mission is to create Winnipeg’s BEST pet care facility!

Shawn Bennett

Principal

Shawn has been involved in purebred dogs most of his life, and has bred, raised, trained and handled some of Canada’s top English Setters and is an aspiring dog judge. Shawn apprenticed under some of Canada’s most well known handlers and trainers including Mark & Tad Dakin and Sonny & Bobbie Tougas. He is also the founder and publisher of Canada’s largest dog magazine, Canadian Dog Fancier.

Nadeen Bennett

Principal

Nadeen is our human resource and training guru! With her years of experience in the recruiting business, Nadeen is responsible for assembling the team here at Happy Tails. She is recognized in the business community in Winnipeg for her unequaled level of customer service.

Nichole Searle-Rivard

Assistant Manager

Nichole started her animal care career in 2015 with the Canadian Animal Blood Bank. Since then, she has been extending her knowledge of animal care in several different aspects including rescue, volunteering at animal hospitals, working in pet retail as well as previously working at a doggie daycamp and boarding facility. She also has an Animal Nutrition Certificate to assist you with any nutritional concerns. Nichole is owned by her two dogs, Duke and Nina. When Nichole isn’t at work or school, you can find her snuggled up with her fur kids!

Ashley Vieira

Salon Manager 

Ashley has had such a true and genuine passion for animals since a child. As a young girl she would search for anything she could grasp to read and educate herself on dogs. She’d spend hours memorizing all the different breeds, always extending her knowledge through various canine related literature. Ashley always knew she wanted to have a career involving dogs, only uncertain of where that would take her. She soon discovered her talent for grooming, and knew that is where she fit best. 

Ashley started her career as a Canine Stylist several years ago and hasn’t looked back. She has her CPPS Canine Stylist certification and is working towards completing all levels of CPPS certification.  Ashley tirelessly searches for any and all tools that will help improve her talent, including but not limited to: seminars, books, articles, and even more experienced professionals. Ashley strives to continue educating herself so that she can be the best stylist, both for her four and two legged friends.

Ashley loves other things as well, such as listening to electronic dance music. Most of her free time is spent with her amazing Belgian Malinois, Eevee. They love to train, play fetch, tug-o-war, and on occasion, sit on the couch snuggling and playing video games.

Lexus Drew

Receptionist

Lexi started her career in the pet industry in 2013 at one of Winnipeg’s premier doggy daycare’s, her love for animals grows everyday. She is the proud owner of Zoe the Airedale Terrier and Zak the Welsh Terrier. When Lexi isn’t at work you can run into her at the dog park or she is out of the country at a music festival. Her strive for the highest customer and animal care is what always puts a smile on her face, the fur babies help too!

Angie Bannatyne

Daycamp Attendant

Angie just simply loves dogs and cats! Angie loves discovering their individual personalities, traits, energy, their attention and affection they require and love, and of course their quirks! Angie has had pets throughout her whole life, and currently has three dogs. She describes them as the shining lights of her life. Angie recently launched her own small business “Paws Massage” that specializes in personalized pet baskets and at home dog walking. Angie treats every pet as her own, always doing her best to send your 4-legged family member home happy and tired!

Jessica Lanzellotti

Daycamp Attendant & Receptionist

Jessica is proudly owned by her three dogs Kitana, Jet and Bella. Jessica has had a passion for animals for as long as she can remember, she especially loves spending time with her dogs outdoors!

Josie Braun

Daycamp Attendant

Josie has always wanted to work hands-on with animals! She loves dogs, cats, as well as many other types of animals, especially red pandas. She is certified in pet nutrition and is passionate about studying dog behavior. When Josie isn’t caring for your dog at Happy Tails, you can find her at home binge watching a TV show or playing video games. It is her dream to one day adopt a Corgi and name it Banana. Josie takes the cutest pictures of your pooches and it is her goal to make sure every guest at HappyTails is happy and safe, and for them to go home tired and smiling!

Amanda Halayko

Senior Training Instructor

Amanda began obedience training with her first dog in 1998 under the mentorship of Margaret Ekosky of Winnipeg K9 Education. A couple of years later Amanda started as an instructor under Margaret’s guidance. Amanda learned to train dogs from puppies to adult in various training levels from family pet to competition. Obedience training will allow you to have the dog you want as a pet or to get involved in sports with them. At Happy Tails, we all believe in responsible dog ownership and various training methods emphasizing positive reward based training, making it fun for them and for the owner.
